Excelsior Cricket Club is a Boland Cricket club and was founded in 1889 as a men’s cricket club. Stemming from the original Excelsior Rugby Club.
The club boasts with a 12-year reign of the Grand Challenge Cup during the 1925 to 1937 period and 9 years in success in the Knock-out Cup. In 1958 to 1960, the club held the Grand and League Cups for the 1st team and the 2nd team held the runner’s up trophy.
During the 2017/2018, Excelsior Cricket Club won the Cape Winelands First Division 50 over league and were the overall champions of six first divisions of Boland Cricket.
Our team is back playing in the Cape Winelands First Division (South) in the 2019/2020 season. Looking for more reward as our illustrious club marches on for more glory.
